The Writing & Learning Studio, Room 1501, provides free instructional resources for students working on essays, research papers, reports, summaries, and other kinds of writing assignments from any course. What the alarms bells mean

  • Fire Alarm--One continuous sound:
    • Evacuate classroom
    • Stay away from buildings
    • Return to class only when instructed by fire or security personnel
  • Lockdown notification--5 short blasts:
    • Stay in classroom, away from windows
    • Turn out lights
    • If not in classroom, enter nearest building
  • A  long, 30-to-45-second blast will give the "all clear"
    • Confusing alarm:
    • Stay in classroom
    • Call security at (206) 546-4633 or (206) 235-5860
