Year End Giving Tips
Gifts postmarked by December 31 can help reduce the amount of taxes you owe next April. Please keep the following tips in mind and always consult your tax advisor for specific details.

Gifts by check or money order may be mailed to:
Shoreline Community College Foundation
16101 Greenwood Avenue North
Shoreline, WA 98133
Make sure your check is dated and postmarked no later than December 31, 2016. The date you deliver or postmark your donation is recognized as the gift date for
tax purposes. (Please note the date on the check or money order is not recognized
by the IRS as proof of your intent to give on a particular date.)
Because the College and offices are closed December 24 through January 3, it is best to mail your gift after December 23, 2016.

For instructions on how to transfer stock in the 2016 tax year, email Mary Brueggeman, Executive Director at email@example.com Mary will check email during the office closure.
Designating Your Donation online, by check/money order or stock transfer
You may designate a particular scholarship, department or fund, if you wish, by writing in your selection online or in the memo of the check/money order.
- Scholarships truly change the lives of students...a gift to the Student Success Scholarship Fund helps talented, deserving students in need continue their education regardless of financial hardship.
- If you do not designate a particular fund or scholarship, your donation will go to the greatest need.
Please Note: The College is closed December 24, 2016 – January 3, 2017
Thank you for your support! Have a safe and happy holiday season!
